I logged in to Twitter only to see a blank screen.

“Something went wrong. Try Reloading.”

I thought, maybe it's a glitch. I was wrong.

Twitter has decided to limit the number of tweets you can see per day. The platform is almost impossible to use.

“Sory you are rate limited. Please try after some time.” I am sure you’ve seen the message.

New users will have a limit of 300 tweets, old users 600, and verified users 6000, according to Elon Musk. This is done to prevent data scraping and system manipulation.

Twitter had been behaving strangely for some time.

They disconnected Substack from Twitter’s API and limited the number of views on Substack content shared. Though Medium didn’t release a detailed email explaining how Twitter is affecting its viewership, from my experience I have seen lower engagements when I share a Medium story on Twitter.

This is not specific to Twitter; Facebook dislikes links as well.
